We are hiring a business intelligence analyst who can turn customer data into revenue. So, if want to hire someone with that zeal, then this blog is for you.   

BI analysts must be proficient in data management and business analytics. Also, experience in data visualization tools, predictive analytics, and data processing is commendable.  

BI certifications from IBM, QlikView, SAP, SAS, or Tableau are a significant plus.

  • Advanced degrees in Computer Science/Data Science/Statistics/Economics (nice to have) 
  • Expertise in handling customer data  
  • Explore new insights through data discovery tools like SAP Business Objects, Datapine, MicroStrategy, etc 
  • Familiarity with Tableau Power BI, Python, Java, or R platforms and languages 
  • Cognoscenti in financial and business practices 
  • Research, monitor data, share findings and suggest recommendations 
  • Stay abreast with best practices, and current economic trends 

A Day in the Life of a Business Intelligence Analyst will look like this

  • Create an Analytics plan for the short-term and medium-term and a roadmap for the longer-term  
  • Determine visuals and mapping of KPIs to visualization type (graphs, charts, widgets, dashboards) for BI presentation layer PoC (Proof of concept) 
  • Design and execute combined Spotfire and R-based dashboards with an informative and intuitive combination of analytics to identify critical business issues  
  • Maintain and update developed analytics based on business-side requests, including suggestions on metric improvements and additions 
  • Convert recommendations into action plans in liaison with senior management 
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative market research using third-party syndicate measurements, ComScore, Nielsen, and eMarketer 
  • Prepare daily reporting platform support (SSRS and Business Objects) 
  • Monitor and check business intelligence tools, methods, or systems for process and data validation 
  • Serve as an intermediary between internal and external customers and subject matter experts (SMEs)/EDW team
