Instructional Designer Interview Questions

Instructional Designers are responsible for developing educational material for standard, classroom- style training programs and online courses. They determine training needs and prepare content that is both involving and instructional.

Educational activities play an important role as employees grow their skills, learn new things and ultimately, start working on more complicated projects and improve their performance. As a result, for this job role, you should look for candidates who know how important employee training and continuous learning is. A candidate should be able to determine training needs, prepare educational goals and choose the most effective instructional techniques. These professionals specialize in designing programs that respond to your employee development needs.

During interviews, ask candidates about their previous work experience. Ask questions to know about their approach to developing instructor-led courses or online sessions. Also, ask questions to know how familiar the candidate is with the relevant tools. You can also ask them to share their portfolio with work samples and ask them questions related to completed projects.
