Why Hire a UX Designer?

Believe it or not, customers judge your website/app design within 50 milliseconds! That’s why a great design leads to a good UX (User Experience). Be it a start-up or a global enterprise, a UX Designer’s role is ubiquitous.

Are UX Designers in demand in 2022? Short answer: YES. Long answer: The UX Design industry is currently brimming with global demand, wide job opportunities, and salaries above industry standards.

Glassdoor reports that UX Designer jobs are constantly ranked as the Best 50 Jobs in the United States.

But what factors are driving the demand for UX Designers? Libby Kelly, Director of Recruitment, Cpl Technology notes,

“The demand for UX talent has gained momentum in a post-Covid economy. Companies know they won’t survive if they are not present online.”

Along the same lines, the State of UX Survey 2022 reveals that at least 45% of the companies are missing out on significant revenue opportunities as they are not treating UX as a business-critical function

UX Designer optimizes the interaction between humans and products in terms of digital ergonomics (aesthetics and performance). As customer advocates, they explore paths to enhance the customer’s experience. However, they do not work for the visual design of a product.

Validating this, Jess Weber, Chief Talent & Development Officer at Creatively also says,

“Demand for top talent in creative economy sectors like UX design, animation, digital visualization, and others is rapidly outstripping its supply.”

A study by Nielsen Norman Group found that 90% of UX and UI Designers primarily work on web-based products, while 76% of them work on mobile app design.

The U.S.Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts the growth of the UX Designer job market at 13% between 2020 and 2030.
