Webmaster Job Description

We are hiring a Webmaster to keep our websites and servers in good shape so as to fulfil our customer requirements. You will be responsible for making our websites attractive and secure while also keeping them easy to use. Finally, it will be your responsibility to make sure that our entire web infrastructure functions efficiently.

In order to succeed in this position, you must have a creative mind with excellent analytical abilities. You also need to be very good at communicating your ideas. The ideal candidate for this job will have a strong academic and technical background as well as the ability to work in a team. So, if you like to work in a challenging environment, and qualify the following requirements then you are probably the one we are looking for.

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields
  • Prior experience in a relevant position, preferably as a Webmaster or Web Developer
  • Expert-level knowledge of internet analytics and search engine optimization of websites
  • Sound knowledge of web standards and website management tools
  • In-depth knowledge of HTML/CSS, XML (knowledge of Javascript and SQL is a plus)
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems as soon as they occur
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as creative abilities
  • Attention to detail and excellent team player
  • An analytical mind with a problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to take quick decisions while working in a fast-paced team environment

Responsibilities

  • Developing fully functional and user-friendly websites
  • Testing the websites on different operating systems, devices and browsers
  • Keeping the servers in working orders and eliminating all problems as they arise
  • Making sure the sites are secure by implementing security systems like firewalls and login pages
  • Making regular improvements to website capacity and loading speeds
  • Eliminating the bugs in pages and images
  • Updating the content of the website and taking care of SEO
  • Checking and improving site performance (e.g. conversions, traffic)
  • Responding to user complaints in a timely manner
