What is the role of Warehouse Supervisor?

The Warehouse Supervisors oversee and coordinate the routine activities at a warehouse. They monitor staff performance and make sure that all workers and assistants are working efficiently. They are also responsible for maintaining inventory records and checking them for accuracy, time to time. And lastly, they remain in contact with the clients so as to know that whether they are satisfied or not.

Keeping in view these qualifications, the candidates for this job role should have a varying set of skills such as interpersonal and leadership skills. The candidates must be organized, interactive and extremely detail-oriented. They must know how to assign tasks to their subordinates and how to ensure that all of them work properly. They must also have a helping nature to help their team through all difficulties.

The ideal candidate must have some sort of experience in warehouse management or supervision. Otherwise, you should prefer those candidates who have logistics and supply chain management experience in past.   • Suppose your team has not been doing well recently and most of the members have been neglecting their duties. What would you do?
  • Can you supervise a team consisting of employees from different cultures and backgrounds?
  • How would you resolve conflicts between two of your team members?
  • How do you resolve unexpected problems and emergencies?
  • What was your biggest mistake in supervising a warehouse in past? How did you correct it?
  • What are the usual problems you face while supervising your subordinates? How do you resolve them?
  • What would you do if one of your team members clearly refuses to do an assigned task?
  • Suppose a worker has not been working efficiently. How would you deal with him?
  • Suppose you find that one of your team members has been stealing from the warehouse. What would you do?
