Information Technology Consultant Job Description

We are hiring an IT Consultant to help people create, use and integrate Information Technology systems. You will help resolve the technical problems as soon as they arise. You will also provide technical support and training to the users in order to optimize the value of technology in a corporate environment.

Our ideal IT consultant is highly customer-oriented and has solid knowledge of the field. Communications is one of the key requirements for an IT consultant so we foresee you having extra-ordinary presentation skills. Last but not the least, we are looking for technical expertise as well as an analytical mind.

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields
  • Prior work experience as an IT Manager, IT Consultant, or other IT-related fields
  • Professional certification preferred (e.g. CompTIA A+)
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network related problems
  • Sound knowledge of different databases and operating systems
  • Experience of project management
  • An analytical thinking mind and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide quality customer service and support as needed
  • Ability to take quick decisions while working independently

Responsibilities

  • Understanding the customer’s business objectives, and requirements
  • Providing sincere advice on the use of technology for the purpose of achieving business goals
  • Managing information technology initiatives while working with the in-house technical staff
  • Designing information technology systems and networks to ensure the correct functionality and architecture
  • Supporting the implementation of new technology
  • Training the users for existing as well as new IT systems
  • Providing technical assistance with any issues as soon as it arises
  • Reviewing the existing systems and recommending improvements
  • Producing reports and documentation with the help of Technical Writers
