Production Artist Job Description

We are hiring a Production Artist for managing our design projects and making sure that they meet our clients’ requirements. You will be responsible for taking designs during the final developmental stages, evaluating them for accuracy and preparing them digital or print publication. Your ultimate goal would be ensuring our digital, as well as print designs, meet all quality standards.

In order to succeed in this role, you must have a keen eye for visual details along with basic project management experience. Secondly, you must have strong technical and creative skills, needed for formatting various illustrations and images. So, if you like to work in a fast-paced environment, and qualify the following requirements, we would like to hear from you.

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Arts or a related field
  • Prior experience as a Graphic Designer, Production Artist or a related role
  • A strong portfolio of professional and creative design projects
  • Experience with graphics editing tools and design software (e.g. InVision, Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW)
  • Sound knowledge of preflighting tools (e.g. Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress) and printing process
  • Basic knowledge of web development systems and HTML
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional time management skills along with the ability to multitask
  • Strong communication skills with problem-solving attitude
  • A creative mind with a keen eye for details

Responsibilities

  • Liaising with product managers for defining design requirements
  • Reviewing fonts, graphics and layouts before finalization of products
  • Finalizing designs by using visual editing tools
  • Following up with clients to make sure that they are satisfied with designs
  • Archiving produced graphics and images
  • Ensuring timely publications by following deadlines
  • Managing prepress processes for print files
  • Suggesting and applying image improvements, such as creating layers and gradients
  • Retouching images for improving quality both in digital and print formats
  • Staying aware of latest industry trends and advancements
